Saraghina Caffè

Saraghina Caffè is a Viennese-inspired restaurant in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Neighborhood. Milanese-born founder Edoardo Mantelli opened this eatery as a loving tribute to the grace and grandeur of these late 19th century establishments from his home city.

Within the art nouveau landscape, we looked to early 1900s illustrators like Alphonse Mucha and Secessionist artists such as Koloman Moser. The creative process was loose and adaptive. Furniture, stained glass, and sculpture from this era inspired the border treatments, meanwhile graphic, historical posters from some of the greats of their time informed the spirit of the custom, single-weight display typeface.

The website intentionally expanded the core brand visual language, incorporating light-hearted illustrations by Simone Massoni to convey the diverse, local community and the convivial spirit of the restaurant.
